At approximately 2:30 p.m. today, I was informed that I have been chosen to be part of a brand new team dedicated solely to our Michigan customer, bringing up their local business on our system. Next Friday is my last day on the NCSC, and I will be physically on-site in Detroit, MI as of 8/01/05 for a 45-day period, and then 1 week a month thereafter. I'll be On-Site with the customer, yet I will be still based out of the Atlanta office. This is perfect for me, and means that I will be able to take advantage of many of the "perks" of being with my company that I was not privvy to before (i.e., flex schedule, tele-working, etc.). Plus, this has all the advantages of the previous position without the disadvantage of having to move, though I will be required to do a lot of travel (which is fine with me).
So excuse me if I'm absent from the journal and other social aspects of life for a while during the period in which I'm acclimating to my new position.
Ciao for now.
