You know, it's simply amazing how the most basic of bodily functions are what are the most affected by surgery. I won't go into the gory details, but they've been a "challenge." I'm finally feeling as if I'm getting back to normal, however.
My mentor at work came to see me last night and took me out to dinner at Chili's. I had a good time, we didn't talk about work at all except in passing, and I was totally worn out when I got home.
Well, S and R both read my LJ yesterday, but there was minimal fallout, which is a good thing. S appreciates the fact that I can vent here rather than dumping on him directly. We had a "good day" yesterday (aka I got to talk to him for a whole half an hour). I think that's really my primary beef with our relationship, he just doesn't have a whole lot of time to spend with me. He's got a lot of obligations and responsibilities, and our schedules don't jive well.
Health first, job concerns second... next on the list... buying a second home. Just have to get the first two things ironed out first and then find a place closer to the Perimeter. Yesterday was a very good day for me mentally. I got some things that have been bothering me for quite some time puzzled out, and I've got a good idea of the direction in which I want to move. Now, if I can just figure out where I left my drive and motivation, it will be a good thing. I've gotten way too used to being lazy while I have been sick.
Ciao for now.
