Icon assistance...

OK folks, I'm finally going to jump on the icon bandwagon, as I have thought of an appropriate representation of myself.

If anyone could point me to some good (free) icon-making software, I'd appreciate it.

You talkin' LJ Icons? np. You can roll with MS Paint and git-er-done. The only restrictions are that the icon has to be no larger than 100x100pixels and something like <120kb in filesize (but double check me on the file size thing).

Other alternatives...

-Photoshop if you can get a hook-up.
-The Gimp. Open source PShop alternative.

I'm actally thinking about investing in a copy of PhotoShop for other reasons, this might just send me over the edge. ;)
