Yesterday I was defeated by a trip to a churriscaria, or Brazilian Steakhouse - Fire of Brazil. Not only was the tab for 2 (with tip), $55, but the meal induced a food coma, the likes of which I haven't had in months.

But, to roll back the clock a bit. Got up and started my day early, posted on LJ and then headed out to run errands. I stopped by Goldberg's and got a bagel for breakfast, and then went to Target and Costco. Came home and Michael helped me unload the car and then we took his rental car back to Budget.

Came back home and started working on some Cam stuff, but had to stop because I don't have all the records I need. Wandered into Michael's room to determine what he was doing (since he was notably absent from his computer), and found out that he had just popped "Galaxy Quest" into the VCR. God, I forgot how much I liked that movie. I wound up watching it with him to the end.

After the movie, we decided that we were both hungry, so we headed out to Fire of Brazil (I wanted some free airline miles, and it's on my AAdvantage list of restaurants where I get 10 miles/$). The food was good, but not great, and we both decided that for the money, we'd rather make a trip to The Melting Pot. It's worth an occasional visit, and definitely worth one visit just for the uniqueness of the experience of a churriscaria.

After we got home, we were both stuffed, and when Michael decided to lay down for a nap, I did as well... that was around 5 p.m. - The next thing I know, it's like 8 p.m. (Michael slept until 9:30), and I woke up and got back on the computer, but didn't really do anything productive. Hung out on IRC until around 11:30, and then went back to bed and got up at 6 a.m.

However, both Michael and I agree this is the most "well-rested" we've been in a while. The downside is that I didn't get any work done on any of my Cam projects, and I didn't get my laundry done either. So this week won't be much fun, I'm afraid. Technically, I still have vacation approved for Thursday, Friday and Monday. I may just take it anyway, we'll see.

Ciao for now.
