I've been feeling rather grumpy of late, and haven't posted in the morning. I hate sounding whiny or negative. I dunno, I'm beginning to think that writing is a much more emotional method of communication. That's probably not the case, however. Truth be told, it probably just seems more emotional because your words linger for you to look back on in retrospect. It's not like we take a lot of time to think about things we express verbally (otherwise I wouldn't spend so much time with my foot in my mouth).
I've noticed that I tend to use my journal to express things I'm loathe to talk about verbally. In a lot of cases, that means ranting. I can do a "controlled burn" here rather than going off half-cocked or something. There is an edit button. Sometimes I actually write an entire post and then just quit the browser without posting. The catharsis is in the writing/reasoning out itself.
Interesting coffee last night on many levels. Many things have been interesting, of late. Someone close to me called me a snob the other day, which kind of surprised me. I try to be inclusive of everyone, and non-judgemental. Apparently, I'm failing horribly. To me, snobbishness denotes a degree of stand-offishness from those things (people) you find offensive. Let me assure you that this isn't the case. I spend lots of time around people that offend me... LOL, don't we all?? (I couldn't go to work most days otherwise).
Oh, and in Org news, I have become the new CST by default. I was the only one nominated. As someone put it last night, "we're the chapter of apathy." Heh... apt, very apt. I plan on holding my ground, running the game as I see fit, and seeing where it leads. If people can't hang with that, then they can step forward to put forth the effort to do something different. I have no issue or ego around that. Criticism without a plan of action/suggestion as to how to fix a problem is just empty noise. I'm open to all suggestions, however, and will attempt to serve the needs of the game at large, not the squeakiest wheel. I'm tired of watching the squeaky wheels get all the grease.
I have a lot of ideas, I'm actually looking forward to working on them over the weekend. Michael's got some stuff he wants to do and will be taking the truck. I think I'm going to have a "geek day" on Saturday and work on getting all the computers on the network (we've got 3 desktops and two laptops at present), and starting to work on Prestige stuff for folks.
Ciao for now.
