This is mostly because I haven't talked about it in quite a while. As of this morning, I am down to 281 (from the original 395). My end-of-the-year goal this year was 275, so I'm only 6 lbs. away, and probably in no danger of missing the goal at this point, since eating healthy has become more of a way of life for me.

I've still got two years and another 100+ pounds to go. It seems very daunting at times, really. I just want it to all go away *now* so I can get back to doing a lot of things that I used to enjoy (hiking, camping, softball, etc.) I know that I have to be patient, and I know that I've made a lot of changes for the better, and it will only keep getting better. It's not even really hard, honestly, because I changed the relationship I had with food. That's the key. Finding what drives you to eat like a pig, and then stop letting those triggers get to you. The food part works itself out eventually. At least it did for me.

I still love going out to eat, but I know that when I sit down, it's going to either be an appetizer size portion, or I'm taking a to-go box home. I'm eating my leftovers these days, instead of letting them turn into science projects in the back of the refrigerator. As for my sweet tooth, I've found things like fruit satisfy it just fine, although I still occasionally opt for a hot fudge sundae.

The key is learning to be good to yourself, and watching what you put inside your body. Eating healthy tastes good, it really does.

OK, I'm off of my soapbox.

Ciao for now.
