For those of you who haven't discovered the "My LJ" feature, I heartily recommend checking it out. I'm posting from that interface, and since I've now made it my home page, I have a feeling that I might be posting more regularly because of it. Because you can embed your "Friends page" right into the interface, you can update and read your friends page all on the same web space. Very nifty.

As of 8 a.m. this morning, I have paid bills, gone to eat at I-HOP, done my Kroger shopping, filled up with cheap gasoline ($2.19/gal.) and called and checked-in with my dad (whose cell phone appears to have run out of batteries). He had hip replacement surgery on Friday, but is doing well and should be out of the hospital in another couple of days. Today they are going to help him walk for the first time. I've been calling him several times a day to check in, and last count, he forgot to take his charger with him. I'm sure that his girlfriend will get things squared away, and if anything bad happened, she would call me.

Hopefully, today will be a very productive day.

Ciao for now.

Productive day. I went to Bed, Bath & Beyond and wound up with an unexpected new gadget (surprise, surprise). I bought a new iRobot Roomba Discovery. Here's to effortless vacuuming. (Don't get me wrong, I like my Dyson Animal, but I hate lugging it up and down stairs, this way, I'll let this little baby run wild on one floor and use the other vac on the stairs and other floor). I'll decide where to let this run after I figure out how it works.

Off to be geeky.

Ciao for now.

I finally feel like I'm getting organized/settled in my house. When M and I moved in together initially, his stuff was in two of my three bedrooms. After he moved out, I never really expanded to fill in the space. I still haven't really, because at various times I toyed with the idea of a roommate, for one reason or another. Now, I'm choosing a color for his old bedroom. I'm going to start the interior painting in that room, mostly because it's the most empty. After I have color on the walls, I'm going to turn that room into my crafts room. Then, once everything has been moved into there and out of the back bedroom, I'm going to convert that into a true office/den space. After completing that project, that means I'll truly have "just a bedroom" in the master space. As far as redecorating goes, my goal is to do 4 rooms a year (one every 3 months or so). I think that's a project timeline I can live with.

So, for 2006, the schedule is as follows:
1) Front bedroom
2) Back bedroom
3) Master bedroom
4) Master bathroom

Then, in 2007, I'll complete the house:
1) Guest bathroom
2) Powder room
3) Kitchen
4) Living/dining room

At some point, I'm going to finish the garage, but since that's being done by professionals, it's not quite on my "to-do" list. I'm going to have to wait for spring at this point, since we honestly can't expect the temperatures to remain this high (can we?). I'm having an epoxy-resin finish put on my garage floor, and custom cabinetry installed on one wall. I'd also like to delay the expense of that until 2006 as well, especially since we're running out of 2005 (boy has this year gone by fast).

Big meeting tomorrow at work to discuss project deliverables. After 1 p.m. tomorrow, I should have a much better idea of where things are headed for the remainder of 2005 and 2006.

Ciao for now.
