Dad and his new wife are doing fine. His physical therapy is going well and he says that he feels better than he has in months. So this is a worry that is now off my mind. Granted, he's almost 84, but he is in excellent health for his age.
House update: I'm finally getting the interior painted and the remaining furniture in place. Maybe by the 3 year mark I'll finally be fully moved in. Yes, as soon as this is completed to my satisfaction a party will occur. However, it may take a little while before I have the flooring replaced and ready for company. I also have to buy a second mattress for the guest room (actually, I'm getting a new bed and my current mattress is going in there) before I can accommodate overnight guests. However, now they will have their very own nicely furnished guest room as opposed to couch or air mattress central.
The office looks fabulous. The guest room and office were the first two rooms I had painted. Contractor/boyfriend is coming to do the kitchen today. There is also a bunch of other little niggling stuff that he's been getting done around the house too which makes me quite happy.
Work is work. Lots of political crap going on, I'm trying to stay out of the main line of fire. Need to finish up remaining three Six Sigma Black Belt exams and turn in my final project so that I can add that to my list of accomplishments. I'm considering looking for a new job, only because of the certification and the fact that I'm no longer sure that my company is stable as it once was. However, this time I negotiate hard with the new company regarding benefits, etc. I don't want to lose the vacation time I've built up on this job. I'm used to having six weeks off every year.
Gonna work from home today. I have a conference call at 10 a.m. and am still working on our analysis document, but it's mostly done with what I'm going to do. I have CSRs to complete, but can stall until tomorrow on a couple of those because my cohort in crime is taking a vacation day.
Finally, I obtained some really good astrology software. Bit the bullet and finally paid for a good program. If anyone would like for me to run some charts for them, leave me a comment with date (month/day/year), time (hours/minutes/AM/PM), and place of birth. These things are only as accurate as the data we feed them. Also, I can do synastries now (relationship charts), so I need the birth data for both individuals if you'd like one of those.
