Tinuvial's First Annual FREE Community Garage Sale

Do you have things that you no longer need, but would rather see if any of your friends would like to have them rather than pitch them?

Do you hate pricing things for an old-fashioned Garage Sale?

I'm going to having a FREE Garage Sale (tentatively) on September 8, 2007.

There are only a few rules:
1) Everyone brings something to contribute.
2) Everyone takes something home.
3) Everything that is left over is either taken to Goodwill (if it meets their criteria), recycled (if possible) or hauled away to the landfill.
4) Everyone has a good time.

There will be a Mexican Buffet (prepared by me), with both vegetarian and non-vegetarian selections. I already have a TON of stuff that I'd rather not clog a landfill with if someone can use them. E.G., a bunch of sheet protectors for use with collectible card games. A CD labeler (never opened), miscellaneous computer parts, etc. You get the idea!

I think this will be fun for all concerned. Make sure that I have your email address for my evite list. The evite will come out some time in mid-August with all of the final details.

Plus, I'm interested to know if anyone thinks this is a cool idea.
Starting with my bedroom closet. (Hence the reason for the previous post as well).

I'm starting with the closet in my Master Bedroom. I stripped it down to the bare walls (took everything except the fixtures out). I'm going through all of my clothes, shoes, etc., and determining what I'm keeping and what is going. There is major laundry going on right now. When that is done, I'll do my dry cleaning (I love Dryelle).

The other project I'm working on simultaneously is the "User Guide" project. Instead of keeping the paper User Guides for all the gizmos I've got, rather than filing them, I'm finding the appropriate .pdf file on the web and saving them to my computer instead. Much less paper to make the house flammable that way. Lord knows I already have enough books to make it a firetrap anyway.

A belated Happy Birthday to [livejournal.com profile] nightwolfwriter. For those of you that didn't know, that's my first husband. I ran across him on Google earlier this year. Seems like the years have been good to both of us. I wish him all the best. He'll be at DragonCon this year, but we haven't decided if we're going to try to meet or not... might just be too weird.

I feel like an inchworm that is in the cocoon, transforming into a butterfly. Lots of changes going on with me, both internally and externally.

Oh! I figured out what was wrong on Tuesday. On Wednesday, I had my life threatened by a psycho from the chat room that I frequent. The Dekalb Police were called, and I just avoided the event that took place, which, of course, was her intent. The odd part about it was that I wasn't planning on going anyway. Besides, now that I'm back at work, I don't need the chat room to entertain me or rescue me from boredom. I admit I spent a lot of time there while I was off work... but that's because the docs told me I couldn't do anything physical, and I followed doctors' orders for a change.

On the job front, I did get the promotion I applied for. I start in my new position on Monday. Nice raise, bigger bonus potential, and a lot less travel. Plus, what travel there is will be all over the country, not just Detroit.

I decided to refinance my house, so that's in the works. Just taking care of some business so that I can take life a little easier somewhat day to day. I need to have time to focus on the book... I put my life on hold for three months. In many ways, I was waiting to die. It's time to start living again.

Ciao for now.
