OK, so anyway, as you may tell, the holidays have me a bit prickly. No particular reason, I'm glad that I fought it off long enough to go out last night. It was good seeing everyone at [livejournal.com profile] korangar's fete. However, I am more resolute in my feelings that 2005 will be all about *me* and doing things that make me happy. For one thing, I spend far less quality time with people than I desire, and that's mostly my fault. Yes, I love to game, but it's far less important to me than those people I care about. I understand that they want a chance to game goob as well, but I enjoy their company so much more when we're talking about 'real life' - sports, politics, crafting, books, just about anything other than WoW, CoH, LARPing, etc. One might think that means I should find a new group of friends, but I like the people I've met in the gaming world, I just want to move beyond that as the sole topic of conversation/contact. This is not to say that we haven't done that, I heard very little "goobing" last night, actually. I guess all I'm trying to say is that I want more moments like last night, and less gaming.

Shopping. Shopping is good. Shopping with girlfriends is even better. I shall rectify the lack of this in 2005.

Entertaining is my heart's desire. I love hosting and cooking and feasting with my friends. It's horrible for my waistline, but I'll find ways to compromise in the year ahead. Expect more inivitations in 2005.

True correspondence shall not die. I'd rather receive a letter than read a LiveJournal entry. In order to receive, we must be wiling to give. While I know that it's nice to be able to send an update "en masse" regarding the little things, significant events in your life and the lives of friends should be shared on paper. I shall take a hint from the lovely [livejournal.com profile] da_diva and develop a true address book and stationery collection in 2005.

OK, that's three new things for 2005. Let's see if I have what it takes to make it happen.

Ciao for now.
