Doh! I thought I had World of Warcraft loaded to this machine, but I don't. Arrrrrrrrggggggggggghhhhhhhhh. No matter, I downloaded 10 hours of video to my 30GB iPod today, right? Turn on the iPod, the menu comes on, I select the show I want to watch and.... grinding... audible grinding... none of the buttons work, the screen is black, and all you can hear is the hard drive stuck and grinding over and over again... stuck...
::sigh::
At least I have my iPod Nano with audio books on it, but I'm going to go ahead and save that for the 5-hr. flight to SFO. I am so looking forward to this weekend, even if I have to fly a total of 11 hours round trip, plus all the aiport hassles. It wasn't so bad tonight, as a friend of mine was flying in from Phoenix, and we met in the airport and had dinner prior to me coming to my gate and finding out my flight was delayed.
Work is well, work. There may be a change in the offing there, I have a tentative offer on the table to do some Six Sigma consulting (as an independant contractor), I just have to decide if the increase in pay ($75/hr. = $150,000/yr.) is worth the loss of benefits. I have some more considering to do.
.
However, I'm learning that I'm much less high-strung than I used to be. So many things have gone wrong just since the beginning of this year, yet I am still remarkably mellow.
I have my camera, I have my computer. It will be in the mid-60s and sunny all weekend. I will be near the ocean. This is bliss for me. I'm staying in a hotel adjacent to Fisherman's Wharf in San Francisco, very centrally located. I'm going to take a couple of trolley tours and Sunday, after checking out of the hotel, I'm going to drive down the coast to the Monterey Bay area and take a bunch of pictures of my old haunts from when I lived there, etc. I'm going to go out to the beach in Carmel, eat at my favorite English Pub (I looked it up online to make sure it's still in business). I managed to get the business class upgrade for the trip out, I'm keeping my fingers crossed about the red-eye on the way back. I finally picked up one of those neck pillows 'cause well, I've got a lot of flying to do this weekend, and I'd like to be able to sleep on the plane.
I think that's it, I'm rambling horribly.
Ciao for now.
