I had a weekend of ups and downs...

Downer - getting bitten by a spider on Friday night and having a very bad reaction. This continued through the morning and most of the afternoon on Saturday, with my blood sugar deciding it was going to take a freakin' roller coaster ride through all the highs and lows in rapid succession. I managed to get it stablized enough to head out for the B'ham LARP, however, and by the time I got to B'ham, I was feeling human again.

LARP was awesome, it was really good to connect with all those bright, shiny, new faces at the Starkville chapter. What sucked was having the game called early at 10:30 p.m., but I honestly don't think the hosts were prepared for the crowd that they received. We haven't had a turn-out like that here in Atlanta in ages, and frankly, I don't think we will, either, and that's just all I'm going to say about that.

My two travelling companions chose to snooze the trip away on the return, so I was left with my thoughts and the most beautiful weather and vistas on the trip back. For some reasons, *most* of the times I go to B'ham, it rains. I *hate* driving in the rain. Today was much better, albeit difficult due to the high winds whipping everything about. The sky and sun were gorgeous, however.

I had a chance to do a lot of thinking on the way back, which was good. It was good "me" time even though I wasn't completely alone. In some ways, there is something very peaceful about listening to the sounds of those that you care about slumber. You know who you are... you mean more to me than I can say.

I feel as though I'm at some kind of turning point, actually. Not entirely sure why, and not entirely sure what is coming. But there's something out there, looming on the horizon. A new opportunity or some kind of pleasant change, I hope. Even if it is another challenge, I'm ready to meet it with some better head space right now. I have some priorities that I've been overlooking lately that I want to move closer to the top of the list. We'll see what comes of that.

Ciao for now.
