Today has been all about getting ready for the Gnostica game tonight. I took on the responsibility for "catering" the games, and as usual, I'm going overboard. Tonight there will be a Chinese buffet to celebrate the Chinese New Year (Feb. 9). Next month, the theme will be Valentine's Day, and each successive month will have its own theme, etc. I'm exhausted however, and still have much left to do, but I came home to take a shower and change for the game before heading out to pick up the catering order and heading over to the gamesite to set up the buffet.

As part of equipping myself for my new duties (that's my excuse, and I'm sticking to it), I bought 4 9-qt. & 1 5-qt. stainless steel professional grade chafing dishes. They're all set up on-site already, water-filled, just waiting for the hot food and for the sterno to be lit. My car is full of soda and miscellaneous items I'll need tonight, and the only thing left is to stop by Panda Express for the food. I realized mid-week that by having to go out and buy the gear this month, I wouldn't have time to cook. No such excuses from here on out though as I'm stocked up and ready to go.

In fact, I think that tomorrow I may go ahead and start the prep for the game next month, buying replacement soda, etc., and picking up the decorations. (I didn't have time for decorations this month because, well, I hate Atlanta, it takes 30 min. to drive anywhere). I wasn't organized enough this month to get it all done.

One of the reasons I'm writing this entry is that I'm sorely tempted to lay down for a nap, but if I do that, I'll wind up oversleeping and messing everything up. Hopefully, I can stay awake until midnight tonight, but it will be a challenge that only caffeine will be able to overcome (which is why I don't normally drink caffeine, just for such occasions I *want* it to keep me awake).

Ciao for now.
