My Dad is what you might call stubborn. He's 85 years old, he's got an artificial hip, artificial valves in heart, a pacemaker and is the recipient of a quadruple bypass. (All of these surgeries, plus surgery to remove cataracts were done in the space of one year a couple years back).

But he thinks he's 20. So he was out digging compost in the garden and he managed to dislocate his artificial hip. So he went to the emergency room two weeks ago Tuesday night. Came right back home, and managed to throw it out again on Saturday, but by this time he had picked up pneumonia and they kept him in the hospital until last Thursday before transferring him to a rehabilitation hospital where he stayed until today.

He did call me last Thursday, but glossed over the details so that I had no idea how bad it was until I talked to my step-mom today. I'm grateful he's on the mend, and *gasp* he even PROMISED me that his days of doing yard work are over.

I'll believe it when I see it. I love you Dad.

Ciao for now.
