Slept well last night, which is surprising, considering how whacked out my schedule has been of late. I think I've finally lost enough weight to lick the whole "sleep apnea" thing. I seem to be consistently waking up 5 hours after I have first gone to sleep, and then after that, whatever rest I get seems to be restless... but at least it's not the whole night any longer. Even before I started having problems sleeping ... wait... I've always had problems sleeping, I just never "forced" myself to get 8 hours in the past... But even when I used to sleep normally, I always woke up at least once in the middle of the night for a bathroom break. I can remember doing this even as a child. It is rare that I sleep beyond 6 hours straight. Actually, if I manage to sleep for close to 6 hours, I usually do not bother going back to bed. I know that I didn't yesterday, I got about 5.5 hours of sleep, woke up at 5:30 and just decided to stay up yesterday.

I had my bagel this morning, and for some reason I'm still hungry. Probably because I really didn't eat all that much yesterday. S'OK though, I'll make it until 10:30 when I have my first Balance Bar of the day. I think my new eating pattern is getting easier to remember and follow, although it seems that lunchtime is still the most unpredictable result of the day. I actually cooked on Saturday! Well, cooked being a relative term as the lasagne was not homemade, but merely home heated.

I can hear the songbirds outside my window. There are many more here than there were at either of my last two residences. It's nice to hear them wake in the morning. There is still a lot of country left in this city girl. I miss the days I spent growing up on my grandparent's farm, it really was an idyllic setting. Unfortunately, I've become a creature of modern technology, and doubt a rustic setting would appeal to me unless I purchased a two-way Satellite Internet connection. Who knows what the future will bring? Maybe by the time I'm ready to retire, there will be a "wireless" net spread across the US.

Ciao for now.
